Why Restaurant De Provenier believes choosing a reservation platform is about more than features

Running a fine dining restaurant requires more than great software. It requires a reservation platform backed by people who are there when it matters most.

When Denzel Boston (maître) and Lars Noteboom (chef) took over Restaurant De Provenier in Schiedam in late 2025, they had a clear vision: to build one of the region's leading culinary destinations, where refined gastronomy and genuine hospitality go hand in hand.

Before joining De Provenier, Denzel built a hospitality staffing agency and spent years working in event catering, where speed, organisation and operational excellence are part of everyday life. As an entrepreneur, he doesn't make decisions based on promises, but on facts, numbers and real-world experience.

That's exactly how he approached choosing a reservation platform, too. What convinced him about FRANK wasn't just the software itself, but the confidence that the people behind it would be there when it mattered.

Restaurants don't run on office hours. Having a partner who understands that is a game changer.

Every reservation platform claims to have the best features. But according to Denzel, you only discover the real difference once you're actually using the system. That's when you realise what really sets a platform apart goes far beyond its feature list.

"Good software is important. But as an entrepreneur, I care just as much about the people behind it. When something needs to happen, it needs to happen now. With FRANK, I know that if something comes up during a busy service, I can reach someone quickly. That gives me peace of mind."

Whether it's a question, an adjustment or simply someone to think along with you, having a team that's easy to reach makes all the difference.

Software you stop thinking about

The best restaurant technology isn't the software you notice most but rather the software you hardly notice at all.

For Denzel, that's one of the things he loves about FRANK.

“Creating tickets is straightforward. Events with deposits are easy to set up. Guest communication runs from the same platform. Everything simply feels organised. It just runs. It's so clear that you don't really have to think about it anymore."

At De Provenier, every service is about creating a memorable experience for guests. Having technology that simply works allows the team to focus their attention where it belongs: on hospitality.

Today, every reservation platform should be able to manage bookings. That's no longer what sets one apart.

With technology evolving rapidly, every modern reservation platform is expected to handle reservations reliably. That's the bare minimum.

What makes the real difference is choosing a platform that keeps improving alongside your business. For Denzel, that's another reason FRANK stands out.

"AI is going to play an increasingly important role in hospitality. I like that FRANK keeps thinking ahead instead of standing still."

Just as importantly, Denzel appreciates that feedback doesn't disappear into a roadmap.

The FRANK team listens, thinks along and continues building the platform together with the restaurants using it.

That's why switching isn't even a consideration anymore.

"I get approached almost every day and asked whether I'd consider switching to another reservation system. My answer is always the same: no, why would I? Everything works, they're easy to reach and they keep improving. For me, that's exactly what I need."

For Denzel, that's the difference between buying software and choosing a partner who understands hospitality.
